Mr. McKay is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s London office, where he is the Co-Head of Corporate Finance, Europe. He is highly experienced in all aspects of M&A, public and private equity raising and debt financing. Throughout an investment banking career spanning more than two decades, he has originated and executed transactions, including several marquee mergers, for numerous industrial, consumer, technology, property and resource companies.

With a focus on financial sponsors and LBO deals, Mr. McKay has completed more than 50 M&A assignments with European private equity clients. In 2003, he was the leading M&A banker in Europe, ranked by number of completed deals, according to Mergermarket. More recently, he acted for TPG on the acquisition of Ontex, Tembec on the sale of the manufacturing businesses in France, Hg Capital on the acquisition of JLA Services and advised on the sale of Polestar to Sun European Partners.

Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. McKay spent six years as the head of investment banking and M&A for CIBC World Markets in London. Previously, he spent several years as a senior investment banker with Morgan Stanley & Co. in Toronto and New York. He also spent eight years at Wood Gundy, heading up the firm’s industrials and paper & packaging teams. Prior to that, he worked with Midland Montagu in London and IBM in Sydney.

Mr. McKay earned his MBA from McGill University.
