Mr. O’Donnell is a Senior Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Advisory Services business and is based in the firm’s Dallas office.

He has more than a decade of experience advising clients on valuations, fairness opinions, M&A, corporate and financial restructurings, and other transaction-related financial advisory services. Mr. O’Donnell is active in the firm’s transaction opinion practice, rendering fairness opinions to boards, independent fiduciaries, and other constituents. He has experience in a variety of industries, including consumer, food, and retail; energy; financial institutions; media and entertainment; aerospace and defense; basic industrials; technology; infrastructure services; and natural resources.

Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey’s Dallas office, Mr. O’Donnell worked in the firm’s Hong Kong office for five years and the firm’s Los Angeles office for three years. While in Hong Kong, Mr. O’Donnell’s experience included acting as the financial advisor and providing fairness opinions to the independent committees in the going-private transactions of China Hydro Corp., Yongye International, Chemspec International Ltd., Sino Gas International Holdings, Inc., ChinaEdu Corp., LJ International Inc., and China Nuokang Bio-Pharmaceutical Inc. His experience also includes acting as the debtor advisor in the financial restructuring of Sino-Forest Corp., providing valuation analysis and policies and procedures assessments to China Investment Corp. (CIC), providing a fairness opinion to the board of directors of City Telecom HK Ltd. in conjunction to the sale of its assets to CVC Capital Partners Ltd., acting as financial advisor to the buyer group in the management buyout of China TransInfo Technology Corp., and acting as the financial advisor to the board of directors of Acorn International, Inc. in conjunction to a tender offer.

While with Houlihan Lokey in Los Angeles, Mr. O’Donnell was involved in numerous mandates, including fairness opinions, strategic planning, portfolio valuation, tax and financial reporting, litigation analysis, and estate and gift tax reporting. Before joining Houlihan Lokey, he worked in the Los Angeles office of Deloitte’s financial advisory services practice.

Mr. O’Donnell graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Business/Economics and from the University of Southern California with an MBA in Finance. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
