Houlihan Lokey Advises AMIDORI Food Company

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Pfeifer & Langen Industrie- und Handels-KG has acquired a majority stake in AMIDORI Food Company GmbH & Co., KG. The transaction closed on May 29, 2019.

AMIDORI, based in Bamberg, Germany, offers sustainable and healthy plant- based protein products for various food applications. The company was founded in 2015 by the families Wedel and Büse and operates on an industrial scale with c. 125 employees at two production sites in Germany and Austria. As a pioneer in plant protein wet extrusion technology, AMIDORI can process a wide range of raw materials into products that are unique and superior in terms of bite, taste, and nutritional aspects.

Pfeifer & Langen Industrie- und Handels-KG is the holding company of leading firms in the food industry with well-known brands including, Intersnack (funny-frisch, Ültje, Tyrrells), Pfeifer & Langen Zucker (DIAMANT, Kandis rock sugar), Naturkost Übelhör (chia seeds, quinoa), and Savanna Ingredients (new low-calorie carbohydrates).
