Mr.
Knust is
a Senior Vice President in the Real Estate Valuation and Advisory Services practice within Houlihan
Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory business. He has more than a
decade of experience
providing real estate advisory services specializing in single-asset
and
portfolio valuation, lease analysis and abstracting, feasibility studies, and
due diligence. He is based in the firm’s Chicago office.
Mr.
Knust
has worked on every major property type, including CBD office buildings, shopping
centers, luxury multifamily, manufacturing facilities, student housing, and
manufactured housing communities. In addition, he
has completed numerous assignments for multinational and
global engagements, having worked throughout North America, Europe, Australia,
and Asia.
Mr.
Knust’s
recent experience
prior to joining Houlihan Lokey includes performing a $4 billion
portfolio valuation of nearly 300 medical office, senior housing, skilled
nursing, and hospital properties for financial reporting purposes;
valuing a
mixed-use portfolio worth over $400 million for a Chicago developer that was a
newly registered investment advisor with the SEC; and conducting a
portfolio valuation of 135 grocery-anchored shopping centers located in major
markets throughout the United
States. In addition, he
performed loan due diligence and prepared a refinancing analysis for a $300
million industrial portfolio.
Before
joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Knust
served as an experienced Manager in Ernst & Young’s Real Estate Consulting
group. Prior to that, he was a Senior Analyst with Jones Lang LaSalle (formerly
Integra Realty Resources),
where
he performed a variety of consulting and valuation assignments.
Mr.
Knust
holds a B.S. in Finance and Legal Studies from Indiana University
Bloomington.
He is a Certified
General Real Estate Appraiser in multiple jurisdictions.
