Co-Head of China Restructuring

Ms. Yan is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group, advising clients on financial restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and financings. She is active in advising clients in Greater China and Southeast Asia and has experience in a variety of industries, including real estate, industrial, consumer products, food and beverage, healthcare, and manufacturing. 

While at Houlihan Lokey, Ms. Yan has executed a number of transactions in Greater China, Indonesia, the Philippines, and other Southeast Asia countries. She advised Kaisa, one of the largest real estate developers in Shenzhen, China, on restructuring its US$3 billion offshore indebtedness and advised Sino-Forest on a debt-for-equity transaction with respect to its US$1.8 billion convertible notes and senior notes. Her engagements also include the sale of Bocom, a leading security integration business in Shanghai, and the sale of Alaska Milk, the largest listed dairy company in the Philippines. 

Ms. Yan holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Accounting, both from Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management. She passed her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level III examination in 2006 and her Financial Risk Manager (FRM) examination in 2004.
