Jason Abt

Managing Director

Mr. Abt is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Consumer, Food & Retail Group, primarily focusing on strategic advisory for the restaurant and wine industries. He is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Abt was a Managing Director at Robert W. Baird & Co., where he focused on restaurant and retail clients. Prior to Baird, he was Managing Director of Corporate Development for The Vincraft Group, a private equity fund focused on the wine industry, where he managed the sourcing, acquisition, and operations of portfolio companies. Prior to this, Mr. Abt was a senior banker at Cowen, where he advised restaurant, specialty retail, apparel, and e-commerce companies. He also spent several years at Credit Suisse, Banc of America Securities, Great Western Bank, and the Resolution Trust Corp.

Mr. Abt’s previous consumer clients include Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Chuy’s Restaurants, CorePower Yoga, Gary Farrell Winery, Gordon Biersch, Kosta Browne Winery, Main Street Restaurants (a TGI Friday's franchisee), Noodles & Company, Papa Murphy’s, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Restaurant Management Inc. (an Arby’s franchisee), Rubio’s Restaurants, Wingstop Restaurants, and Zoës Kitchen. 

Mr. Abt holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Finance from Arizona State University.
