Managing Director Head of Alternative Capital Coverage

Mr. Goldman is a member of Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Sponsors Group and the firm’s Management Committee. As Head of the Hedge Fund and Alternative Capital Group within the Financial Sponsors Group, he has covered hedge funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and large multi-asset class managers since 2007 and maintains relationships with more than 225 such managers. Mr. Goldman has been involved in some of the firm’s most interesting and complex situations, such as the sale of Octavian to TPG Capital and the generational transition at Och-Ziff Capital Management. While he is primarily based in Miami, he spends a significant amount of time in New York.

Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Goldman was a Director and founding member of Deutsche Bank’s M&A group. Previously, he was a Director in UBS’s M&A group. In these roles, he advised on more than 50 M&A transactions involving more than $75 billion of capital.

Mr. Goldman has been a board member of Affinity Media, a Goldman Sachs and Oak Investment Partners portfolio company; a senior advisor to a large multi-strategy asset manager; and a senior advisor to an upstart RE credit manager. He was also a faculty member of New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies’ Center for Finance, Law, and Taxation in both New York and Beijing.

Mr. Goldman holds a B.A. in Economics from Duke University and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. In addition, he attended the London School of Economics for a general course degree from the Accounting & Finance department.
