Mr.
Kamath is a Senior Vice President in the Real Estate Valuation and Advisory Services practice within Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory business.
Focusing
on valuation of real estate, Mr. Kamath specializes in
valuation related to financial reporting, acquisition due diligence, financial
modeling, and distressed debt, with specific expertise in REITs, private
equity, and life sciences companies. He is based in the firm’s New York office.
Mr.
Kamath has nearly
15 years of extensive
real estate finance
analytical,
modeling, and valuation experience.
He
advised one of the largest sovereign wealth funds with due diligence on a
portfolio of high-end hotels across North America and Europe. Additionally, he
has managed two high-profile expert witness valuation projects involving real
estate valuation analysis in the gaming industry.
Mr.
Kamath’s recent experience includes valuing a $1 billion residential
portfolio in Japan, valuing a $100 million industrial development in the Northeast,
and
valuing the equity interest of a private equity that invested $4 billion
in retail
real estate assets in the U.S.
Additionally, he manages several quarterly valuation projects for private
equity clients that have exposure to hospitality, office, retail, residential,
logistics, and other real estate assets.
Before
joining
Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Kamath served as an experienced Manager in Deloitte
Advisory’s Real Estate Consulting group. Prior to that, he was an investment
analyst with Standard Chartered Bank and with Citigroup’s private banking division.
Mr.
Kamath holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester and an M.S. in
Economics and Finance from Cardiff University, U.K. He is also
a member
of the
Urban
Land
Institute (ULI). Additionally, he serves on the Alumni
Board of the Simon Business School, University of Rochester.
